Bouguereau Study

This is a small 5X9 inch study. Here are some things I learned, that some might find useful.

For the skin tones, I mainly used mixtures of Titanium white, Yellow Ochre Pale, Cad. Red, and Raw Umber. The shadow areas are nothing more than a mixture of Raw Umber and Yellow Ochre Pale. Occasionally I would add small amounts of Cad. Red to the mixture to warm it up a bit. Using Raw Umber helps speed up the drying time, which I like.

In the brightest area of the leg I used Titanium White, Yellow Ochre Pale and just a touch of Cad. Red.

I learned allot from this little study.
