Hey this is Great! I need to read the rest of your notes on this painting. I've recently been experimenting with Copal medium between layers myself.

Thank you, I just started experimenting with Copal medium myself. Have you tried M.Graham's Walnut Alkyd? Its a nice medium as well.

Im finishing a painting now, that I started with Gamsol, for the drawing, and first color block in. Then for the more opaque passages I used M. Grahams Walnut Alkyd. Hopefully Ill be able to post it in the next couple of weeks. Im always trying new colors and mediums.

No I haven't yet. I'm making a note of it. I tried Liquin but it seemed to remove my under-painting as I applied it. Also I think it yellows a bit with age and I don't want that.

I just recently made a switch on my color palette for a few paintings to try simplifying things. I referenced Solomon J. Solomon's colors over at underpaintings.blogspot and was amazed he didn't use a yellow other than Ochre.

Can't wait to see your painting!
